Mechanism

Reverse Peel is a specialized 3-step peeling treatment for melasma and pigmentation. It features a new peeling agent that combines active ingredients with Collagen Peel (Massage Peel PRX-T33).

Its unique feature is that it works in reverse—from the skin’s deeper layers (dermis) to the surface (epidermis)—allowing it to address uneven skin tone and pigmentation that are difficult to improve with conventional peels or lasers.

It can also treat melasma, which may worsen with laser treatments. By gradually working from the dermis to the epidermis, promoting the breakdown and elimination of melanin.
It is effective for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and sun-induced spots, improving dullness and brightening the complexion. It also stimulates collagen production, leading to tighter pores and reduced fine lines. Furthermore, it contains ingredients that suppress melanin production (such as kojic acid and phytic acid), making it effective for preventing the recurrence of uneven skin tone.

Advantages

  • Tends to act on deeper layers than regular peels
  • Virtually no downtime
  • Less painful, making it easier to continue treatments
  • Highly effective for stubborn pigmentation issues

Disadvantages

  • Rarely, side effects such as dryness, stinging, redness, swelling, or pigmentation (dark spots) may occur
  • Neglecting post-treatment care (moisturizing and UV protection) may actually increase the risk of pigmentation

Reverse Peel Effects

Reverse Peel works by sequentially applying three different agents, delivering effects from the deeper layers of the skin to the surface.

STEP.1Targeting the Deep Skin Layers

Reverse Peel 1 Primarily composed of relatively high-concentration trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), it acts deep into the dermis.

It suppresses the production of melanin pigment, which causes melasma, while promoting collagen production in the skin. This enhances skin firmness and elasticity from within. Hydrogen peroxide neutralizes the strong effects of TCA, allowing it to target the dermis while minimizing surface irritation and downtime.

STEP.2Melanin Breakdown and Elimination

Reverse Peel 2Primarily composed of kojic acid and phytic acid.

It complements the effects of Step 1, which targeted the dermis, and powerfully breaks down and expels already-formed melanin pigment. This efficiently removes pigment deposits accumulated deep within the skin.

STEP.1Brightening Action and Normalization of Turnover

Reverse Peel 3Contains active ingredients such as Vitamin C, Phytic Acid, and Tranexamic Acid.

It removes old keratin from the skin’s surface and normalizes skin turnover (metabolism). Furthermore, by further suppressing melanin production and providing powerful whitening effects, it maximizes treatment efficacy and guides the skin toward a translucent appearance.

Performing these three steps consecutively allows for a multi-faceted approach to melasma and pigmentation from the skin’s deeper layers to the surface, aiming for fundamental improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

While conventional peels primarily focus on “exfoliating dead skin cells,” Reverse Peel works in reverse order: dermis → deep epidermis → shallow epidermis. This makes it particularly effective for challenging concerns like melasma and pigmentation, which are difficult to treat with traditional peels.
There is minimal downtime, but some individuals may experience slight redness or warmth for about a day immediately after the procedure.
You may see improved radiance after just one session. However, for treating melasma or pigmentation, we recommend a course of about 5 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart.
After that, monthly maintenance sessions will help maintain healthy skin condition.
