FAGA Hair Cycle and Its Characteristics

A Progressive Form of Hair Loss

FAGA (Female Androgenetic Alopecia/Female AGA) is a form of hair loss caused by a shortened hair growth cycle due to factors like decreased female hormones, hormonal imbalance, stress, and aging.

Normally, hair follicles are highly active during the growth phase when hair grows thick and long. After growth stops and the follicle shrinks during the regression phase, the hair naturally sheds. It then enters a resting phase preparing for the next new hair. New hair begins to grow, transitioning back into the growth phase.

However, with FAGA, the growth phase shortens. As more fine, short hairs increase, the overall volume appears to decrease.

Progression of FAGA

FAGA is a type of hair loss where hair gradually becomes finer and sparser along the parting or at the crown, rather than receding at the hairline like male-pattern baldness. While progression is slow, many people find that “by the time they notice, it’s already quite advanced,” making early treatment initiation crucial.

It is most common in people in their late 30s to 50s, with a tendency to increase especially after menopause. It is characterized by widespread thinning, such as “seeing scalp through hair” or “overall loss of volume.”

Dual Hair Regrowth Program for Women

Serious Treatment with Minoxidil × Woman Lipogain

Moving beyond just “stopping hair loss” to “growing hair back”.

“Combining Dutasteride and Minoxidil achieves both.
It works on two fronts: defending against AGA progression and actively thickening, strengthening, and increasing hair. This dual approach aims for more reliable hair regrowth results.”

What is Minoxidil ―
Nurturing from Within

Originally developed as a vasodilator, minoxidil improves scalp blood flow, delivering nutrients and oxygen to hair follicle cells. Furthermore, it acts like a “hair growth engine” by guiding dormant follicles into the “growth phase,” unlocking the power to grow new hair.

  • Restores hair’s body and strength
  • Thins hair grows thicker and stronger
  • Increases overall hair volume
  • Reduces thinning at the parting line

What is Woman Repo Gain ―
Delivering from the outside

An external minoxidil solution designed specifically for women’s scalps. It acts directly on the scalp to optimize the hair growth environment near the roots.
Its low-irritation formula excludes propylene glycol (a potential irritant), allowing safe daily use.

  • 3% minoxidil concentration (optimized for women)
  • Non-greasy, smooth application feel
  • Gentle formula free of fragrances and irritants
  • Also effective for improving hair lift and shine

Benefits of Combined Use ―

Dual Hair Growth Approach: “From Within” and “From Without”

By performing these two actions simultaneously,
you maximize the “power to grow hair,” enhancing the improvement in “hair growth speed and volume”.

  • 6–12 months: Noticeable improvement in hair volume and density
  • *Results vary, but most people begin noticing visible changes around 6 months.

Side Effects
Minoxidil
  • Hypertrichosis (increased body hair or vellus hair growth on arms, legs, face, etc. – a sign the hair growth effect is affecting the entire body).
  • Cardiovascular effects: palpitations, shortness of breath, swelling, dizziness, low blood pressure. (As it was originally a blood pressure medication, caution is required.)
  • Skin symptoms: scalp itching, rashes, irritation. These are relatively rare but possible.
Woman Regain
  • Scalp rashes, redness, itching, irritation, dandruff, or a sensation of heat at the application site may occur.
  • Initial hair shedding may occur as a sign that minoxidil is taking effect. This varies by individual, typically appearing 2 weeks to 1 month after starting use, with increased hair shedding lasting about 10 days to 2 weeks. This process prepares for the growth of stronger, thicker hair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Discontinuing treatment may cause hair thinning to progress again. The hair cycle that had returned to normal may become disrupted once more, leading to further progression of FAGA.
We will conduct regular checkups during your treatment to ensure you can continue safely. Please consult us immediately if you experience any changes in your health.
Results vary, but on average, many people notice reduced hair loss and the growth of vellus hair within 3 to 6 months.
This is a side effect of the medication called “initial shedding” and is nothing to be particularly concerned about. Initial shedding is a temporary symptom that occurs when newly formed hair pushes out weakened hair to grow. It is commonly seen about one month after starting AGA/hair loss treatment.
While some people may feel anxious, initial shedding is evidence that the treatment is beginning to take effect. Please continue your treatment without worry.
