If you are have these concerns

AGA
  • Every time I look in the mirror, I feel like my forehead has gotten wider.
  • My scalp shows through more noticeably under overhead lighting or in photos.
  • I’ve noticed more hair loss when washing my hair, and being pointed out for thinning hair was a shock.
  • People have said, “Your hair seems a bit thinner,” and I’ve started worrying about it.
  • I feel like the volume in my bangs and crown area has decreased.
  • I’ve started hiding it with my bangs, and styling my hair doesn’t work well anymore.
  • I have family members with thinning hair.

AGA Hair Cycle and Progression Patterns

During the anagen phase, when hair grows thick and long, the hair root is highly active. After the regression phase where growth stops and the follicle shrinks, and the resting phase where hair naturally sheds to prepare for the next new hair, new hair begins to grow and the cycle returns to the growth phase.

What Happens with AGA

  • The growth phase shortens → Hair is more likely to fall out before becoming thick and long.
  • The resting phase lengthens → The interval before new hair grows increases, reducing density.
  • As a result, increased hair loss, thinning hair, and visible scalp become noticeable.
AGA Hair Cycle
Progression Patterns

AGA Progression Patterns

  • Early Stage: Slight receding hairline at the forehead (signs of an M-shaped pattern) / Slightly reduced density at the crown.
  • Mid-stage: The M-shaped pattern deepens; thinning occurs at the crown (O-shaped).
  • Advanced: The thinning areas at the forehead and crown expand and eventually connect.
  • Severe: The forehead to crown area becomes widely thin, while hair on the sides and back of the head remains relatively intact (U-shaped).
Improvement is possible at any stage. While AGA is a progressive form of hair loss, early detection and early treatment are most effective. Even with advanced progression, maintaining and improving the remaining hair is entirely possible.

Our Clinic’s AGA Treatment

A Dual Approach: “Offense” and “Defense”

Serious AGA treatment with Dutasteride × Minoxidil.

Moving beyond just “stopping hair loss” to “growing hair back”.

Combination therapy with Dutasteride + Minoxidil achieves both.
Combining the “defense” of slowing AGA progression with the “offense” of thickening, strengthening, and increasing hair, we aim for more reliable hair regrowth results.

What is Dutasteride ―

“Defensive” Treatment to “Stop Hair Loss”

DHT (dihydrotestosterone), produced when the male hormone testosterone changes, is the primary cause of AGA. Dutasteride powerfully blocks the production of this DHT.

  • Suppresses the primary cause of AGA progression at its root
  • Approximately 1.5 times more effective than finasteride
  • Effective for both the frontal and crown areas

In other words, it acts as a brake on hair loss.

What is Minoxidil ―

An “Offensive” Treatment That “Promotes Hair Growth”

Minoxidil improves blood flow and activates hair follicle cells. It is a hair growth stimulant that reawakens dormant hair follicles.

  • Stimulates hair matrix cells to promote new hair growth
  • Delivers nutrients to hair roots through vasodilation
  • Restores hair’s body and resilience

Combining oral medication (2.5mg/5mg) with topical **Veraltis 7%** enables “dual stimulation” from both inside and outside.

AGA Treatment

Treatment Process

1

Consultation

We assess your scalp condition and recommend the optimal treatment.

2

Blood Test

(For those requesting Dutasteride) We will confirm your health status.

3

Prescription & Treatment Start

We will begin treatment combining oral and topical medications.

4

Regular Follow-ups

We will monitor effectiveness and side effects, adjusting treatment as needed.

Treatment Overview

Treatment Effects
  • 3 months: Reduced hair shedding
  • 6 months: Improved hair thickness and resilience
  • 12 months: Period when hair regrowth becomes noticeable
  • Continuity is key to successful hair regrowth. Your doctor will monitor your progress and provide support.

Treatment Duration

Continue oral medication and topical application for at least 3 months. We recommend continuing for 6 months or longer. Initial shedding may occur after 1-2 months.

Oral Administration Method

Take orally once daily. Apply topically 1-2 times daily, ideally to clean skin.

Blood Draw

A blood draw is required for dutasteride and minoxidil prescriptions. One draw on the prescription date → One draw one month after starting oral medication, followed by draws every 6 months thereafter.

※Blood donation is prohibited while taking dutasteride. Wait 6 months after stopping the medication. Since the drug can be absorbed through the skin, women and children must not touch the medication.

Contraindications
  • Individuals undergoing dialysis
  • Individuals with severe hypertension or hypotension
  • Individuals with heart disease, kidney disease, or liver dysfunction
  • Individuals under 18 years of age

Side Effects
Dutasteride
  • Rarely, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, or ejaculation disorders may occur. (These are considered infrequent.)
  • Serious side effects such as depressed mood, abdominal discomfort, rash, diarrhea, liver dysfunction, allergic reactions, testicular pain, or testicular swelling may also occur.
Minoxidil
  • Hirsutism (increased body hair or vellus hair on arms, legs, face, etc., indicating the hair growth effect is affecting the entire body.)
  • Effects on the circulatory system, palpitations, shortness of breath, swelling, dizziness, low blood pressure. (As it is originally a blood pressure medication, caution is required.)
  • Skin symptoms such as scalp itching, rashes, or irritation are relatively rare but possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Discontinuing treatment may cause hair thinning to progress again. The hair cycle that had returned to normal may become disrupted once more, leading to further progression of AGA.
We will conduct regular checkups during your treatment to ensure safe continuation. Please consult us immediately if you experience any changes in your physical condition.
Genetics is said to be the primary cause of AGA. Generally, symptoms caused by genetics cannot be overcome through personal hair loss prevention measures alone, so we recommend considering treatment at a clinic.
Whether your hair loss is genetic or due to other reasons, we have helped all individuals struggling with thinning hair experience hair regrowth effects.
This is a side effect of the medication called “initial shedding” and is nothing to be particularly concerned about. Initial shedding is a temporary symptom that occurs when newly formed hair pushes out weakened hair to grow. It is commonly seen about one month after starting AGA/hair loss treatment.
While some people may feel anxious, initial shedding is evidence that the treatment is starting to take effect. Please continue your treatment without worry.
