What is Medical Laser Hair Removal?

Thermal destruction hair removal targets the hair follicle papilla, damaging it by applying intense heat in a single treatment.

Its main features include: directly destroying the hair root, making it effective in fewer sessions; a low risk of hardening fine or vellus hair (hypertrichosis); and the ability to treat a wide range of hair types—from thick to fine vellus hair—using devices with multiple laser wavelengths.

Triple Wave Laser with Powerful Cooling for Reduced Pain

Laser Hair Removal
Our clinic uses the latest, original hair removal device capable of simultaneous three-wavelength (Alexandrite, Diode, YAG) irradiation.

  • Alexandrite Laser(755nm)
  • Diode Laser(808nm)
  • YAG Laser(1064nm)

Additionally, our powerful cooling system reduces discomfort during treatment, allowing you to safely receive high-power laser therapy.

We recommend a treatment cycle of approximately 6 sessions, with each session occurring every 1 to 2 months.
Furthermore, our clinic operates on a pay-as-you-go system, allowing you to visit at your own pace.

What is the difference between salon hair removal and medical hair removal?

While there are various hair removal methods, they can be broadly categorized into “salon hair removal” and “medical hair removal.” In particular, the medical hair removal (thermal destruction laser) introduced at our clinic fundamentally differs in approach from salon hair removal.
We will explain the differences between them in an easy-to-understand manner.

What is Medical Hair Removal (Thermal Destruction Laser)?

Medical hair removal is a hair removal treatment exclusively performed at medical institutions. It uses medical-grade lasers to destroy the hair follicle and the cells that produce hair (the hair matrix and bulge area) with high heat, enabling permanent hair removal effects.
Thermal destruction lasers, in particular, deliver strong energy directly to the hair follicle to reliably prevent hair regrowth. This characteristic allows you to experience high effectiveness in fewer sessions.

  • Equipment used: Medical laser
  • Practitioner: Nurse
  • Effect: Hair removal (hair does not regrow)
  • Estimated number of sessions: Approximately 5 to 8 sessions
  • Physicians can respond promptly to any potential skin issues

Hair removal treatments are performed according to the hair growth cycle. The basic schedule involves one laser session every two months.

What is Aesthetic Hair Removal (Light-Based Hair Removal)?

Salon hair removal is a method primarily performed at beauty salons, using light known as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).
Because the energy is relatively weak, it cannot destroy hair follicles and only provides a temporary effect of suppressing hair growth. Hair may become thinner or grow less easily, but it does not disappear completely, so ongoing treatments are necessary.

  • Equipment used: Light-based hair removal device (IPL)
  • Practitioner: Esthetician
  • Effect: Hair reduction/suppression (hair becomes finer/slower to grow back)
  • Estimated number of sessions: 15 to 20 or more
  • As it is not a medical facility, response options for skin issues are limited
Comparison: Medical Hair Removal vs. Aesthetic Hair Removal
Comparison Item Medical Hair Removal (Thermal Destruction Method) Esthetic Hair Removal (Light-Based Hair Removal)
Effect Hair Removal (Root Destruction) Hair Reduction / Suppression
Equipment Used Medical laser Light-based hair removal device (IPL)
Safety Managed by nurses No medical qualifications required
Estimated Number of Sessions 5–8 sessions 15–20+ sessions
Pain Level Moderately strong (anesthesia available) Mild sensation
Cost Good value for money due to short treatment duration Relatively inexpensive, but requires multiple sessions to achieve results
Skin Issue Response Physician handles issues on-site Limited response capability; outsourced to external providers
